Tell us about your background and what are you doing at Crosskey?

For the last 20 years I have been working with testing systems and communication between developers and the end product.
I have been at Crosskey for the last seven years.
Here at Crosskey I am working as a Product Specialist and Scrum Master for Team API mainly focusing on our PSD2/Open Banking APIs.

Why did you choose a career in tech?

While working with different systems as an office worker I started to develop an interest in how the systems where built and how they could be made more user-friendly.
I enjoy the challenge of finding bugs before the customer does, and some days feels like solving a Sudoku puzzle all day.
I also see pride in giving the customer just the right amount of information they need.

How has Crosskey promoted your career and personal growth?

I have been able to take several courses in test methodology and acceptance criteria. I have also had the opportunity to become a Certified Scrum Master. I appreciate that Crosskey is a multicultural company with employees from several different countries. This diversity enriches my personal workdays, and I strongly believe that a more diverse workplace leads to a greater end product, especially when combined with the strong work ethic of the people of Åland.

Why should young women go for tech, and what advice would you give women considering a career in tech?

Since the future is Tech, we need to be here!

What changes do you like to see in the tech industry to make it more interesting and inclusive for women?

We need to be able to recognize and nurture women's potential, even when they don't have the confidence to display it themselves.
